Maybe to you these are just a Hiking Sneaker.

To me it’s a little more.

I ordered these for our trip to Arizona for my 45th Birthday.

What you may not know is that 30 years ago, I had a pair of these. Handed down from a friend. I didn’t get “new school clothes” and I was lucky to have a friend who was a little bigger than me and who went to a different school.. no one knew I was  wearing his hand me downs.  

I remember running outside for Gym Class. A “cool kid” liked my sneakers. I quickly said “thanks, my dad got them for me in the beginning of summer and I love wearing them”

Why did I say that? Bc it was clear the shoes had some wear to them. They were hand me downs.  

I was still proud to wear them.

Life is much different for us now, but I’ll never forget being poor. I am so excited to wear these for our trip, I opened the box today and they’re everything I wanted- at 15 years old and now.
